Its starting to warm up here in Johannesburg, spring is on it way. Busy day today, lots to do and getting ready for a flight home to the UK tonight. Not looking forward to the flight, 11 hours on a plane is never fun, but the family is excited to have me home for the Bank holiday weekend. I hope to get a week at home or at least working in the UK. Belgium GP this weekend at Spa, thankfully I have the family trained and fully indoctrinated into F1 so we will all be watching on the TV over the weekend. Should be a good race as the seasons is getting to a critical stage and lots of off track interest as the drivers vie for their seats next year.
Up early today for a tele-conference after a late night out with the team. I was introduced to a strange South African drink at the end of the meal called a JamJar. The drink is served in a large JamJar with a straw it was bright blue and god only knows what was in it. Dont think I will be trying that one again. Some good news this morning in that I am able to move my flight home forward by a couple of days so I will get to spend the weekend at home with my Family. Still not sure yet if I will be in Nigeria or South Africa when I return which is a bit of a pain.

Ok First entry.

Sitting in the office in South Africa, 6000 miles away from home. Its only been a week but already its seems like an age since I was home. Had the usual stunted conversation with my family back home which always leaves you with conflicting emotions. On one hand I am happy to make contact and hear about the normal day to day life that goes on without me and on the other I am always left with the feeling that this contact is never enough and ends up with you feeling more disconnected. I hope to get home at the end of the week for a few days but still don't know if I will be returning to South Africa or on my to Nigeria for the month of September.
